In recognition of national EMS week, Hoodland Fire District will be holding our annual "EMERGENCY!" EMS demonstrations and tours at the Hoodland Thriftway parking lot from 10am-3pm.
This years events will include Hoodland Fire, A.M.R. Ambulance and Lifelight tours, a bicycle safety check and rodeo, Bicycle helmet giveaways, blood pressure check and a child safety seat inspection.

Firefighters from three local fire districts joined more than 1,300 of their colleagues from 200 departments across the Pacific Northwest and around the nation for the 17th annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb at the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle on Sunday, March 2.

The Hoodland Fire District hired two new firefighter paramedics; Eric Macy, 28, of Culver and Joe Schwab, 39, of Estacada, raising the total number of career firefighters to eight. Macy and Schwab are to start their positions Friday, Nov. 16, 2007.

HFD’s ALS (Advanced Life Support) response vehicle, a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup truck, has been modified and is now the primary response vehicle for all residential first aids. It has been re-designated Squad-251.
This move will save wear and tear on Rescue-251, prolonging the rescue vehicle’s life. Rescue-251 will continue to respond motor vehicle accidents and special rescue situations.
